Tiziana Caponio est professeure associée au département des cultures, de la politique et de la société de l’université de Turin et membre du Collegio Carlo Alberto et du FIERI. Elle enseigne les sciences politiques et les dynamiques et politiques migratoires. Elle a été Marie Curie Fellow au Migration Policy Centre (EUI, Fiesole, 2018–2020) et a été coprésidente du Comité permanent de l’IMISCOE sur « Migration Politics and Governance » (www.imiscoe.org) entre 2019 et 2022. Actuellement, elle est PI du projet de recherche Whole-COMM, » Exploring the integration of post-2014 migrants in small and medium-sized towns and rural areas from a whole-of-community perspective « , financé par le programme Horizon2020 de la Commission européenne.
Ses recherches portent sur les politiques migratoires et les processus d’élaboration des politiques dans une perspective de gouvernance à plusieurs niveaux, avec une attention particulière au rôle des municipalités et à leurs interactions avec les gouvernements supranationaux et nationaux d’une part, et avec les ONG et les organisations de la société civile d’autre part. Tiziana Caponio, Ph.D. in Political Science, is Associate Professor at the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society of the University of Turin, fellow at Collegio Carlo Alberto and FIERI. She teaches Political Sciences and Dynamics and Policies of Migration. She has been Marie Curie Fellow at the Migration Policy Centre (EUI, Fiesole, 2018–2020) and served as co-chair of the IMISCOE Standing Committee on “Migration Politics and Governance” (www.imiscoe.org) between 2019 and 2022. Currently, she is PI of the Research Project Whole-COMM, ‘Exploring the integration of post-2014 migrants in small and medium-sized towns and rural areas from a whole-of-community perspective,’ funded by the Horizon2020 Programme of the European Commission.
Her research interests regard migration policy and policymaking processes in a multilevel governance perspective, with a specific attention to the role of municipalities and their interactions with supra-national and national governments on the one hand, and with NGOs and civil society organisation on the other.
